ABOUT FUSION BELLYDANCE
Tribal Fusion is a contemporary belly dance style that evolved from American Tribal Style (ATS), blending traditional Middle Eastern dance vocabulary with modern influences such as hip hop, flamenco, Indian classical dance, and contemporary movement. Known for its sharp isolations, serpentine fluidity, and theatrical aesthetic, the style emphasizes muscular control and a deep connection to rhythm. Pioneers like Zoe Jakes, Ashley Lopez, and Sara Lyn have each brought distinct contributions to the form, inspiring a new wave of fusion dance legacy carried on by our very own Saleenx. Costuming often features layered textiles, metalwork, and tribal-inspired adornment, creating a visually rich and culturally hybrid aesthetic. Tribal Fusion is both a personal expression and a performance art, often exploring dark, sensual, or mystical themes. As the genre continues to evolve, it remains rooted in technical precision, artistic individuality, and a spirit of innovation.
MEET YOUR INSTRUCTOR
Hailing from Brazil, Saleenx is a multi-award-winning fusion belly dancer known for her powerful stage presence and theatrical artistry. She began her dance journey under the mentorship of Nefabit, quickly rising through the ranks of Northwest Bellydance Academy and earning accolades at both local and regional events. Saleenx has trained extensively with international icons such as Diva Darina, Ashley Lopez, Zoe Jakes, and Sara Lyn, developing a rich, multi-dimensional style. Her performances have captivated audiences from Spokane’s Bellyfest to São Paulo’s Tribal Metamorphosis. She now serves as the tribal fusion instructor at Northwest Bellydance Academy and performs professionally with Northwest Bellydance Company. Passionate about empowering others through movement, Saleenx brings intensity, artistry, and heart to every class she teaches.

Northwest Bellydance Academy is heavily engrained in local and national community, and we are proud of offer a multitude of opportunities to our students. We offer guidance from start to finish, with opprtunities for every level to grow and shine.
