2026 Gala Performane Projects with Nefabit, Saleenx, and Thorn Trinity and special guest star Zoe Jakes!

ABOUT THE GALA
Be part of the magic onstage!
This year, the Northwest Bellydance Academy Gala is rising to new heights and we want YOU to be part of it!
For the first time ever, we are extending our performance projects to regional dancers and beyond by offering full online choreography packets featuring carefully broken down instructional videos, full choreography with music and with verbal cues, formation charts and more. Dancers will be able to study online at their own pace, submit videos for feedback, and then assemble for in-person rehearsals at Northwest Bellydance Academy September 26 – October 1.
LOCATION
The gala will take place at the historic Bing Crosby Theater in scenic downtown Spokane, Washington. This grand architectural masterpiece is one of Spokane’s biggest and most beautiful theaters featuring 750 seats and top of the line sound and light design.

ABOUT THE PROJECTS
Sirens with Saleenx
Sirens is a fusion style choreography exploring the sensuality within each dancer. Siren mythology has long echoed across cultures as a symbol of allure, danger, and transformation. Viewed through a modern perspective, sirens embody autonomy, voice, and the unapologetic ownership of their own bodies and presence. In this reinterpretation, the sirens are not objects of myth, but a self-defined force of power, sensuality, and freedom.
Valkyries with Thorn Trinity
is a Datura-style fusion piece emphasizing the enduring strength of women. For centuries, women have been faced with scrutiny, inequality and always stuck in the shadows of men. No more will women bow to the likes of those who have undermined them for so long. We’ll tell our story, through the eyes of those who have always been oppressed. The peace will be broken, there will be battle and best of all…revenge. We’ll tell our story—this time, without trying to protect those with fragile egos. Their time will come, and that time is now.
Peacock Grove with Nefabit
is a contemporary and theatrical raqs sharqi piece fusing world dance elements. Rich with theatrical detail and layered world-fusion influence, the choreography blends Nefabit’s signature maximalist style of classical bellydance with influence and inspiration from Persian, Chinese, Indian, and other world dances, as well as character and balletic movement to create a unique and original work.
The emphasis in this choreography will be to guide each dancer through fearless embodiment, unlocking new levels of presence and poise through the beautiful inspiration of the peacock.
